I have always wanted to start my own meme but I really did not have the time to come up with the rules and regulations of the meme. Zee had me make the rules – which I did not intend to work on really, but I now I have.
Okay so Sunday Snippets is the name of the meme. Lainee Lang helped me come up with an idea to make it a free writing meme/prompt. Our inspiration was our EL 33 classes which helped us pretty much open the flood gates to our so-called “creativity”.
What is free writing? Please do not panic, it is really not a scary thought. As Mr. Wiki put it, “Free writing (also stream-of-consciousness writing) is a writing technique in which a person writes continuously for a set period of time without regard to spelling, grammar or topic.” It means that you just write and write whatever comes to mind regarding the question at hand, irregardless of possible spelling problems, continuity problems, or even topic problems. (say what?!) Well, yes, topic should be in mind, but I guess it would be clearer in the RULES area of the meme.
The rules are pretty much based on Natalie Goldberg’s “Rules for Free Writing” but I added a few and twisted some here and there. The rules are as follows:

FYI: You may not do it on a Sunday, really. You can answer it some other time. Just make sure you do answer it before I release the next question – which will be next Sunday.
As of the moment, I have no idea how to configure Mr. Linky, so I will update you as I go. I will, however, make it a point to link back to those who have joined.
Okies? Okay!
Suggestions, and violent reactions are welcome. I hope to hear from and read from you!

A conversation we had during dinner at prison camp came to a rather sad turn when Layb mentioned a circulating text message – a cry for help. I remembered the weekly meme from Teacher Julie, and decided to share this with the world.

This little girl, the girl with the flipflops and the sparse clothing, is as innocent as the next little girl. I do not think of anything bad with her attire, as I used to go around our house in that similar attire when I was around that age. And yes, even outside our fence. But perhaps that was different as I lived in a secure compound where there was once a security guard with my yaya looking after me every now and then. The odd thing about the picture is the fact that the little girl is alone on the sidewalk. Even if she is fully clothed, I think that the parents should be hanged for leaving a child alone to wander streets. To top it off, the child is underclothed!
In this day and age, there are maniacs running loose, preying on anyone for a good f*ck. Yes, even little girls or old ladies. It makes me sick! The best thing we can do is to look after each other, and ensure each other’s safety, especially children. And that, most definitely means that little girls (like the one above) should not wander by themselves – especially in that outfit.
… children ought to be taken cared of. Shame on parents who neglect their duties.
In connection with the little girl above, I would like to share the sad message the Layb received earlier. The cry for help. This was the news…
