Do you do Facebook? If you do, I am pretty sure that you at least have an inkling as to what Farm Town is. Yes, like Pet Society, Restaurant City, Mafia Wars, and all other apps in Facebook, Farm Town is one of those interactive games where people enjoy themselves immersed in a game that is as addictive as any drug out there.
I quote one farmer in the Slashkey forum who said:
“Farm Town is like Crack to people, is it?”
“If you are not making the progress that you would like to make and are capable of making, it is simply because your goals are not clearly defined.” ~ Paul J. Meyer
There is one thing I do not regret learning from camp minus prison, and that is the importance of productivity. Perhaps the only problem with camp minus prison was how they got their much aimed for productivity. Now that I have left camp minus prison, I do see the wisdom in some of their actions, but I happen to see how they could have done a bit better to make productivity increase.
That goes without saying that the The Machine at camp minus prison did well to block Facebook. LOL. Well, last time I checked, it was not really blocked, but all threats have already been thrown so it was a given that Facebook was not allowed.
Many companies these days have pointed their fingers at Facebook as the culprit for draining productivity from their employees. With all the fun things you can do on Facebook such as poking, playing, frequent status updates, and connectivity to friends you have failed to connect with after such a long time, who would not love Facebook? I know I do.
My verdict? Facebook hinders people from getting anything done. If you have noisy friends who just thave to try everything on Facebook and then invite you, then chances are, your email will be littered with invites. I am glad I put a stop to that by just disabling the emails that I get. That way, when I come online, I just hit the “Ignore” button and call it a day.
Still, you cannot deny the fact that at some point some of the games are fun enough and can be a destressor for those who would like to wind down for the day. This is one of the good things about Facebook since it allows you to connect with your friends and enjoy yourself as well. But be forwarned: if you do not budget your time on Facebook, your productivity could go from zero to negative 100. I should know, I have been there, and seriously, I have not recovered much yet.
Let’s play a game, shall we?
I would just like to know how well you know me.. NO CHEATING!
I have been online for quite a long time, and I would just like to know if you do know me or perhaps you have no idea who I am. You are free to take lucky guesses, who knows you may know me from what you read here, right?
I would really love to hear what you think about the following questions:
Hehehe.. oh well, I hope you will answer these questions. Just copy and post the answers in the comment box. It will run for 3 days. Then I will post the answers to the questions and we will see who got it right..
Okies? I hope you answer though because it would be a tad bit of a waste just posting this when nobody bothers to answer…
come on, just give it a try, will ya?
This week, in line with the Olympics mania, Teacher Julie asks:
If you were an Olympian, what sport would you be participating in?
To be honest, the question made me laugh and reminisce a bit. Why? Well…
If somebody asked me this question back in elementary or high school, I was convinced that I would become a Olympiad, representing the Philippines in Badminton.
Sure, I loved watching gymnastics or swimming, diving, or synchronized swimming. But I was convinced that it was possible that I could participate as a badminton player. Why?
Simply because I did play badminton, albeit not very well, but it was good enough that it took me places. I do not mean to toot my own horn, but I competed a lot, and went as far as to represent Region VII in the Palarong Pambansa during the year that badminton was first added into the competition. I won gold then, mind you! It was just in doubles though, hehehe. But that was good enough for me.
Then, for reasons that I would rather not mention, I quit the team when I reached high school. And that was the end of it. These days, I play badminton whenever I have a chance to. I had an opportunity to do great in prison camp’s sports fest, but I did not get to go far since I twisted my foot in a game, it got swollen big time, so I quit for the rest of the competition.
The question made me reminisce and think about the good ol’ times. Life being an athlete is hard. Even when I was still in fifth grade, I would sleep over at my group mate’s house because I was supposed to attend 5 a.m. practice, then by 7 a.m., I would rush to school, by t
he end of the day, I was back at practice at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Whew! That life for a 11 year old? Today I think about how hard that was, but at that time, I loved every minute of it (except those numerous rounds around the track), and I think there is that love of the game still and all that goes with it.
I still play a lot of sports – particularly basketball and badminton. I trained in swimming, but my doctor asked me to stop as I was apparently allergic to chlorinated water. Somehow, I cannot picture myself playing basketball in the Olympics. Badminton? Maybe!! Hey, if I were there now, I know I have a friend in Mark Javier (we were classmates in college.. char! hahahaha GOOD LUCK MARK!!).

Recently, I just regained my love of computer games, online games, browser based games, flash games, and the like. Heck, even Trivial Pursuit in Flash is on the list!
But here is the cherry to top my online games addiction: www.doof.com.
I know you haven’t heard about this before. Or perhaps you have. I believe they are relatively new, and they deserve a huge welcoming applause. *applause* If you have heard about them, have you visited their website? Cool huh? I think so.
It’s something like miniClip meets Friendster style. You get to socialize, have your own accounts, battle to get the top ranks, and have a whale of a time! Awesome, dude! To top it off, it has a really great packaging and accessibility. They have arcade games, card games, action games, puzzle games, sports games, word games, multiplaying games, and my all-time fave, STRATEGY GAMES! Nice!!
I’m enjoying it, and the hubby is also checking it out. I wouldn’t mind to see some familiar faces/names there. Come and join me people! Have some time to just be a kid again.. meet new friends, and enemies.
I like! I like! I like! I like..! Please be my doofy friend?
