[4/52] Whats in MY bag?

‘kay so I was a bit busy last week so I forgot to upload my entry but this should do. I wanted to join in the fun of posting what is inside my bag, and in any other day, these are the contents of my bag.

You have to pardon my organizational style because I honestly suck at it. Plus, be warned that you might get confused with my tagging style as well… LOL

Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce you to the contents of my bag!

FYI: I use a blue Old Navy backpack. I used to lug around a pink Heartstrings backpack but the straps died so I still need to mend it.

Meet the contents:

  1. PageOne notebook – for notes, doodles and musings (I also carry around my Moleskine notebook but not at the time when the photo was taken.
  2. Knicknacks – Rubber stress ball (in the shape of my favorite sport), Halls mints, cologne (bottle with pink cap), Bench hand sanitizer, Vitress hair serum, Ponstan SF, lotion, lipgloss, Tears Naturale eye drops, moisturizer, Five cranes menthol stick (yellow with red butt), pink Clinique puch where those that fit will go inside it.
  3. Johnny Walker freebie mini-bag – this holds my camera, toys, and connectors.
  4. Black screen pouch and contents – the pouch holds all wires, connectors, and earbuds, and it goes into the Johnny walker mini-bag
  5. Orange pouch – pouch that contains the miniatures who often star in Wick’s Chronicles. Oh look, there’s Wick and friends! :) This goes into #3.
  6. Samsung camera case – George Burtakoy (the camera) aka “el cheapo” resides in this camera case, which goes into #3.
  7. Writing stuff – Stabilo markers, colored pencils, and ballpen (normally, I carry around 2-3 ballpens, but I had one this time around).
  8. Book bag and book – Book bag keeps the book from opening while being tossed around in the bag, while the book is there for… well.. reading!
  9. Tissues
  10. Boaz Priestly’s charger
  11. Coin purse
  12. Tish (short for Pletisha) – Sun phone
  13. 2 USB drives plus external HDD
  14. Driver’s license (I forgot to include the Axl’s key!)
  15. Boaz Priestly & pouch (the purple pouch thingie is the case)
  16. Wallet

Sooooooo…

There you have it. I still have a number of stuff that normally goes in there like the mini tripod, SuperGirl badge, and hair ties. You won’t be able to spot a comb or brush in there because I normally keep it in my pants’ pocket.

Can you show me what’s in your bag?

Percy Jackson and the Olympians short movie review

I have been dying to see this movie at the Dumaguete Robinson’s PlaceĀ  cinema. Unfortunately, I lack funds to afford myself the luxury of a movie at the mall, so I had to resort to other means just to see the movie.

As of the moment, I really have not finished watching the movie, but I think I have seen enough to make a bit of a review.

You have to understand that this may be a bit of a biased review because I read the books already before I saw the movie. I did, however, hope that directors would learn from the mistakes of others and make a book-to-movie that would more or less have the same appeal as the movie “Angels and Demons.” In that movie, book was still not the same as the movie, but I reckon it was understandable because the book was a bit long and rather complicated.

In Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, I must say that my friend, Ehn, was right. :-s I think the movie made a very simple book become even more simple. Dude, the book was simple and entertaining, and for a mythology enthusiast such as I, I believe the biggest lure of the book is in the manner of which the author managed to portray gods in modern times.

IMHO, the quirks of the book were lost in the movie. It was like looking at pictures chopped and strung together. I still have the book in my mind, and I know the parts that I liked, but the movie just took everything away.

Now, I will not spoil everybody’s fun. So I guess all I can say that it was not what I was expecting, and I was expecting something much better.

My complaints:
* I imagined riptide to be bigger and more…uhmm… awesome
* I imagined Grover quite differently… more on bumbling rather than cool
* I did not want the Annabeth-Percy relationship to be focused on right from the start
* I was thinking more of a summer camp setting not really a boot camp.. but what do I know?
* I was thinking the cabins should have been more.. summer camp like – like the cabins in the Jason Vorhees movies.
* I’m sorry but Pierce Brosnan, for me, is the suave gentleman, not wise centaur type. :-s
* I was missing Clarisse right from the start..
* I felt that Percy – in the movie – was a bit on the confident side, even if he kept saying that he was a loser

… I have more to add, but nevermind.

Oh oh oh aaaaaaaaaaaaand.. I love the book!

A book review will follow because I am still finishing up the fifth novel. :P

The Secret Blog

I’ve taken to my secret blog to shout all my frustrations in life. I cannot do that here because so many eyes are focused on this one. If you do find that other blog, I hope you will just shush about it. Okay?

This secret blog feels like a void where I could pour out all emotions. See, I am the type who needs to write things out – musings, anger, hatred, jealousy, love, and all other colors in human emotion. I need to. Why so? Because I need an outlet.

Admiring La Limar Resort in La Libertad, Negros Oriental

Last week was one of those weeks where the perks of working at the Pristine Asylum were placed on the table. By this I mean that we get to go on road trips to certain places in Negros Oriental – or even to other provinces.

This time around, I joined some of my colleagues on a check up trip to Jimalalud, Tayasan, Ayungon, and Manjuyod. We were there to do some troubleshooting, minor training, and a bunch of other crazy things. We also had to talk to the Mayor of the Municipality of La Libertad for some concerns regarding our work.

Now during our talk with the Mayor, we were fortunate enough to meet him at La Limar Resort. You have to understand that I have never been to La Limar before this experience, and to say that I was awestruck by the beauty of the place would be an understatement.

Okay, so I know that there are other fancy resorts in Negros Oriental, but there was just something about La Limar that took my breath away. From the outside, it doesn’t look that sosy or something because it looks like our regular beaches – not exactly “resort material”. Boy was I surprised when I felt the cool breeze and saw the wonderful infinity pool.

Here, check out some of the pictures that I took from the resort. It’s quite affordable with its Php. 50.00 per adult head for a day of swimming (Php. 30.00 per child), or Php. 1,400.00 for an overnight stay – good for 6 people. That’s quite a steal already, yes? Anyway, here you go.. I keep stalling.. LOL [WARNING: LOTSA LOTSA PICTURES AHEAD!!!]

[3/52] Goodies!!

Ohai folks! :) How was your week?

I’ve got lots to tell, but first, lemme share these goodies I got. :)

Actually, a week before I got these goodies, Miss Feyoh sent me a wonderful book which is now a resident of my backpack. Yes, these days I’ve been using backpacks instead of my regular bags because most bags tend to give way to my regular luggage. :P

Anyhoo.. meet the goodies! :)

Books: I just love, love, LOVE Book Sale. I find so many things there that just makes me so happy. These are good finds for me, you know why? Because all of them a great steals! Ellen Rimbauer’s diary (you know, the ghost at Rose Red) cost Php. 50.00. If you liked Rose Red, then you’d know this is already a great steal. The Henry the Eight book – with its aged paper and cloth binding – cost Php. 20.00!! The King Arthur’s Dictionary is D’s book, and it was priced at Php. 60.00. Not too shabby eh? Awesome finds, I tell ya!

The phone: Meet “Boaz Priestly”! Yes, I already named it. My pink, girly phone is called “Tish”. It is a 5800 XpressMusic which I was not really expecting to receive, but its loads awesome. I am still in a bit of shock, and I cannot stop thanking the person who gave him to me (same person who got me the SuperGirl badge. THANK YOU (1billion times) SO MUCH!!!)

I don’t know about you, but I am trying to catch up with my reading. I did not manage to finish a lot of books/ebooks last year, compared to the years before that.
