Done waiting to exhale

You know, most people think I am the most stiff person there is in the world. Most may think I am kefi-deprived, who insists on making hospital corner ends and neatly stacked books from A-Z. I’m not.

Initially people think that the combination of my monobrow, towering (as if!) height, huge build, and proverbial pout is a perfect recipe for a catty, snobbish, intimidating person who has a huge chance of having some stick up her *cough*. Yeah, well, maybe… and maybe not. Yeah, okay so I can be “maldita”. However, deprived from kefi, I am not. Suppressed, I am. That’s all.

Here, I would like to share a post that I made somewhere out there, to better explain myself: (more…)

Passing the Torch

A number of things give us that light fuzzy feeling of doing good. For me, I get it during times when I have managed to lend a hand to people and somewhat reach out to those who are in need.

Unfortunately, I am one of those people who actually assesses situations before diving and helping, because I have this principle where I believe that the people one should be helping are those who also know how to help themselves. I sort of learned it from my mom when she lectured me a long time ago about learning to use and exhaust all present resources before finding help. Like that old Chinese Proverb that goes, “Give a man fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime,” I think it is best to help out those who are able and interested to help themselves and at least put some effort or passion in a goal or cause.

Now for those who have been reading my blog, I think you may have read somewhere that I have a bit of history playing badminton. It is a sport that is has grown in popularity in the Philippines these days, and one that I really, really love. However, the combined effect of genes, bad reading position, and excessive exposure to the addicting radiation of the computer screen, my eyesight is failing me. So I have played less and less over the past few years.
Incidentally, I was offered a good deal for a brand new badminton racket (YONEX Nanospeed 2009) around June this year, and my pack rat instincts combined forces with my often subdued impulsiveness made me purchase the shiny, sleek, and light racket, with the hope that I would rise and play again.

Chim Chim Cher-ee

If you know me in person, and you knew what I was doing for the past two days, I believe you would be shocked. For those who do not know me for more than a year or so, you will just have to take my word for it.

For two days, D and I have been busy sweeping floors, cleaning our room and supposed office, and well… I chucked out some stuff. This may be a regular thing with most people, but I tell you, it is not that regular for me. See, I am a pack rat. Uh huh. Yeah, I was born under the year of the rat (wood rat to be exact), and I do have pack rat tendencies (read: compulsive hoarding). I keep stuff like reciepts, papers, pair-less earrings, dislodged fake gems, and whatever trinkets I happen to have. I think I got that from my mother’s side – although heaven knows she is anything but a pack rat (my grandma is ;) ).

Ten Inch Hero: Comments and such

If you follow my Tweets, Plurks, and Tumblr posts, you may know by now that I am gaga over Jensen Ackles. LOL Hey, no worries, even D likes the dude and he totally sees what I see in Jensen. But he is not that crazy over Jensen Ackles that he would create a website dedicated to just uploading pictures of Jensen… I mean, we’re not the type to do that okay? ;) LOL [note: sorry, it's an inside / sarcastic joke *payce!*]

Anyway, I came across the movie, “Ten Inch Hero” because I saw it in the filmography list of Jensen Ackles in Wikipedia. I have to admit that I took time to see this movie because of *ehem* the hottie hot hottiie. :D BUT I am about to comment on the movie without being biased because a certain hottie is starring in it.

Seriously though, what peaked my curiosity was the fact that Jensen looked like this in the movie:

I thought, “is he a punk in this movie? Or is he a drug addict? dealer? bad boy? what?” Then I saw this YouTube vid that was posted by a fellow Jensen Ackles fan where the hottie was shown shopping for tampons, wearing an outfit close to the pictures I saw of Jensen Ackles in the Ten Inch Hero. It was too dayum funny that I just had to have my hands on the movie.

Aiming to be Crafty

Dude, I have no idea if it is Christmas season that is inclining me to be crafty or not.

It started yesterday early morning when I was browsing eBay PH for a sleek belt bag  that I could use when or if I go jogging. I just need a miniscule pouch or  bag where a cellphone or some cash can fit into. Plus, if I do not get hold of those small Php 500 peso-ish fake clip on mp3 players, then those bigger mp3 players should also fit in the belt bag… right?

Then I thought, “Why not make my own belt bag?” I thought hard and calculated that finding some scraps around the house might prove to be useful enough for me to stitch together my own belt bag. Besides, I think that torn knapsack could be recycled into a belt bag or so. Or I could use the connecting chuva as the belt bag’s connectors… can you hear the gears in my brain creaking? Yes, imagine with me please, because in my mind’s eye, I know I can do it! I will do it! Oh yes, I know how to sew! Or at least I think so… I know I used to – and that is what we are trying to figure out with this project! :) Besides, if I do well with this, I could market this skill and make belt bags for joggers everywhere!! Right? Right? Right?
