First day of the second quarter wrap-up!

WARNING: LOTSA IMAGES!!!

Howdy! :)

Today is my second day of my second quarter of life!! Yipee!! AND why didn’t you drop by to greet me? Oh that’s okay, I understand. Busy people. I am busy, too! :)

Anyway, yesterday was obviously my first day of my second quarter, which means I have reached 25 years of life. That’s pretty young, if I may say so myself. Yet I think it has gone a bit farther than most would have hoped for, I believe. I shall post the tracks that I have made in the following days, if I have the chance, but for now, I would like to tell you how my birthday went from start to end.

At 12:00 a.m. July 27, 2009, I started my day by working. Hahahaha.. oh come on! It was really fun you know.. fun fun fun! I was writing some articles, chatting with some people, saying thanks who greeted, and stuff like that. I got a wonderful ecard from Pebbles, too! Thanks thanks thanks! :)

The Supers are HERE!

Well, not exactly here here, but I hope that you will enjoy the supers that are here visiting my blog. :)

I stand by my idea of wanting to be a SUPER, and since my friend is too busy to make me one, I decided to make myself a super. This is basically in relation to the 40th International Comic-con that is held in San Diego, California from July 23-26 this year, and you have NO IDEA how fun it was! I love this and I am going to bother Rhardo till he surrenders just to make me another copy. :P

Here I present three supers… The first super is called “Super Lurchie“. Yes, I am VERY creative and I have come up with a unique name. LOL Seriously though, I thought its quite cute. At least Rhardo ensured me that I think I may have come up with an OC (which he later explained meant, “original character”). Anyway, Super Lurchie’s powers and back story will be posted later one. Yes, it is one of my goals to blog about it soon (upon the insistence of Rhardo that I make a backstory as well as an overview of her powers). Why don’t you come back again later for a visit, and hopefully by then I have already concocted a backstory or something.

The next super is called “Red Fox“. No, she is not named after a computer, duh. She’s Pebble’s super. :) This would how Pebbles would look like if she were a super, I reckon. Very foxy lady, do you agree? I do not know what her super powers are yet, except that she has laser vision. Check out her sunglasses that are like Cyclops’. I think they may be related – red hair and all. Just thinking… So this is Red Fox (LOL, I almost typed “Firefox” doh!).

This is the third and final super who I am presenting to you, SALAKAY!! Now this, my beloved readers and friends, is not generated by Marvel (unlike Super Lurchie and Red Fox which was generated using THIS). No, no, no. This one is drawn by Rhardo, and is COPYRIGHTED by Rhardo. Ergo, this is his true blue character, and everything about Salakay, including his name, address, and history, is created by my dear friend, Rhardo. You can check out Salakay’s back story HERE, and for the rest of Rhardo’s artwork and other supers (yes he has a number of them – all created by him, too) at his DEVIANTART page.

I know you are seeing a “COMING SOON…” text under Salakay’s pic. This because Rhardo is currently working on the full-fledged comic. I have no idea when it will be published, but it will be on stores or online SOON.

So there you go. Three supers, and a conscious tribute to the International Comic-con. I wish I could go, srsly. But I doubt if I would ever go in costume. Don’t you think that would be uber cool though?

Nao I need tuh sleep. My eyes adore you, but I need to close them for a while. Toodles!!

Moleskine Contest Giveaway

Just recently, my obsession over Moleskines has surfaced over discussions the highly elusive notebook, IMHO. Why do I deem it as elusive? Because at some point, I cannot stop dreaming about owning one. However, D reckons that I have one too many notebooks that I simply cannot add another one that is a bit costly – which I might later forget about. So there.

However, since Lainee Lang got herself a Moleskine, and KBanay got a notebook that is more or less the same as a Moleskine (like one that I currently have in my bag), I sort of spend a number of hours just staring at the notebook that just MIGHT never be mine. However, lo and behold, during one of jumps from blog to blog, I landed on a blog that I have visited time and time again, Topaz Horizon. At first, I just went over the post quickly, but a picture caught my eye. It was a picture of stacks of Moleskine notebooks on top of each other. Can you imagine that? It looked so pretty that I think my mouth dropped.

Nevertheless. I read the text more clearly and found out that she, in partnership with Avalon.ph (a site that sells Moleskine notebooks and other rare finds), are giving away a free Moleskine Large Cahier Ruled Black Set of 3. Interesting, huh? So I checked out how to join, as it turns out it is the last leg of the Avalon.ph Bloghopping Moleskine Giveaways 2009, and joined the fun. Who knows? I may get my own Moleskine after all?? (I am hoping against hope that I would win).

If you want to own your own Moleskine, why don’t you check out Topaz Horizon’s blog? If you don’t win, at least you get to acquire a discount or coupon given away at the site. :D

I wish, I pray, and I wish and I pray.

Life’s a climb

I never thought I would say this, but lately I have been singing Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” again and again. Okay, so maybe it started when I watched Hannah Montana: The Movie, but apart from the movie, the song itself is quite good, actually. I think it suited the movie perfectly, and it is the type of song that speaks to a lot of people.

A lot of people have criticized the song because it has been sung about before. But seriously? Songs have repetitive topics anyway, what is the fuss if the song is about something that has been written many times before? You hear songs about love love love and what not, but you rarely hear any criticisms about that. Okay, maybe I am not a certified critic, but I think this song would reach out to the youth more than to the jaded oldies *cough*.

At any rate, I am not exactly a huge fan of Hannah Montana, but I like the song, truly. As much as I like the original song, I like this version better:

These are unsigned artists (Ahmir & David Sides) who use Youtube as their main method of getting heard. :) Nice eh?

~~~
Okay, okay, so I am yapping away about life and its struggles. Still, it could be that it’s just my mantra right now, or it’s just that this song inspires me.
As what Pebbles would say, “Let’s keep moving forward…” and I agree! ;)
Squiggly Lines
Today, I write this post without any idea how it will come out. I shall just tap these keys and maybe make sense of whatever ramblings will come out of my brain.
See, I have just heard news that somehow make me want to cry, but at the same time faint with suffocation. Truly, having a family is a bit hard because all the decisions do not affect you alone, rather everybody else who relies on you. For example, I cannot just jump from one job to another because I want to. But I cannot keep staying at a job that just keeps giving me headaches for lack of money. I mean, seriously, i find it hard to stay in a job that does not give me enough pay – because of my family.
