Creative release and coloring books

This afternoon, amidst all coding that I was encountering, I suddenly had the urge to get my hands on a coloring book and just color. Do you remember how it felt when you colored to your hearts content? The smell of crayons on paper, or maybe colored pens on the paper… Didn’t it smell like pure old fashioned fun? Even the act of drawing on paper and then filling in the spaces with just about any color you wanted gave you a sense of fullfillment or fun – whichever you prefer really.

Back when I was younger, I used to have loads of fun choosing which colors I was going to use, and to make sure that I did not stay out of the lines – or sometimes I added some other details on the page outside of the lines. My late uncle taught me how to color wonderfully. To me, back then, he was the bomb for coloring so … so… wonderfully. He taught me a trick or two – which I later learned is a common practice when coloring. But for me, I will always remember that it was he who taught me how to color.

Since I was looking for coloring books, I searched all over the Internet. And I found that there are a lot of pages which anybody can print out and compile. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of digital coloring. LOL No, strike that, I like digital art, but I have NO talent whatsoever for coloring using a computer – either that or I find the task simply too easy. At any rate, I did not get to purchase a coloring book today as I should be purchasing three. One for each of the kids, and one for moi, plus a box of crayons perhaps. The kids love to color, so it should be fun as soon as I purchase some.

Still feeling a tad bit creative, I decided to give in to the creativity urge and made another scrap. I lack practice so pardon the eye-sore:

This picture was taken during D’s 27th birthday, after we were strolling around the boulevard. I tried to incorporate some of the tips and tricks Zeee has in her Scrappin Blog, and I think she will be a bit happy that I started scrapping again. :) Oh, and I would leave credits but I forgot where I got the elements and papers. Sorry. My bad.

Coloring books, here I come!!
