So there I was yesterday, surfing through the tubes of the awesome telly, when I chanced upon Home Shopping Network (aka HSN) and saw an infomercial of Total Sauna. The commercial boasted of “1 inch and 1 pound off in just 20 minutes”, and if you were moi, wouldn’t you stop to see what the hubbub was about?

AMAZING! You just sit down inside the Total Sauna for 20 minutes a day, and in as short as 2-3 weeks, you can lose up to six pounds, starting with that one pound off on your first 20 minutes, guaranteed! LOL If weight loss were that easy, I would definitely purchase Total Sauna in an instant. I would, really, but the price made me yelp. Php. 5,995.00 for a tent-looking makeshift sauna + steamer + diet book?! Thanks, but no thanks. That’s a whole lotta money to shell off just to get myself all sweaty.
If I wanted to sweat, I could sweat in a couple of minutes thanks to Global Warming and the Summer heat. Given the rate that I sweat these days based on the scorching heat of Summer, I should be able to lose a pound a day, yes? If that really works. LOL
While a sauna does have tons of benefits, I think it is wrong that they are trying to pawn off sweating via sauna as means of weight loss without exactly explaining how it goes. From what I gathered, the use of a sauna is not to be considered as primary means of losing weight. It can be used as a booster though for weight loss after proper diet and exercise has been performed. This is because saunas help remove excess water and salt through perspiration.
So in a way, yes, Total Sauna just might work for people who have the budget to purchase the device. But like I said, who needs a sauna when the Philippines, or at least in my part of the country, feels like a sauna with a vengeance. If sauna works well for weight loss, then who needs to exercise when the world feels like one giant sauna?

Haha, I was so drooling at this when I saw the infomercial!
Some person came to our house and had a demo on this. LOL. I don’t think it’s that effective. My tita has one and she hasn’t lost weight at all. Hiphop abs is the coolest way to lose weight!:)
@Flo: hahaha same here, but when i realized that i could sweat without using that, i asked myself “why spend?”
@Maree: LOL perhaps it is a good destressor po? I haven’t tried HipHop Abs, but I do like Zumba and Carmen Electra’s exercises.. LOL..
now this is what i need! hehehe.
Welcome diay sa bisdakplanet!
hahaha thanks for the welcome mam
At this time, we don’t need one. Grabe kaayo ang kainit ron. Mabuang ko!
I like the idea but I think I’ll go with something like this Infared Sauna. It’s a bit bigger and it has a sound system.
Hmmm…sounds great if you really lose those pounds but hmmmm spending that much for a tent that makes you sweat is much less appealing than buying a pair of badminton rackets and sweating it out in a real game
hahaha.. yeahp. besides, perhaps if I drap myself completely in a shower curtain and stay in a room without any fan, I might get the same results. yes?
haha awesome cool sauna
@Spabad
may alam po ba kyong nagbebebnta ng sauna na secondhand???
Work out is still the best, but I’m still interested in this. Pano naman, no time for that at maliit ang bahay. Ano ba talaga ang gamit ng sauna?
I’ll be a hypocrite if I say I wasn’t tempted and almost
instinctively bought one,,, kaya lang grabeng mahal no????!!!!
I”ll save na lang muna and eat my heart out..then maybe one day
I can afford it na….hahahhaha….grabeng taba ko na siguro by then???
Also, anything too good to be true is too good to be true di bala????
im getting it for detox , getting the unwanted toxin in my body, exercise is still the best but in my case, im handicapped, its hard to do cardio for more than 30 min, i get leg cramps, get it for detox, and its worth it
