Package from Maya Desai received

Last night, as soon as I got home from my massage [will post about that later], D met me at the gate saying I got two surprises in the mail today. He said that I would flip out once I knew what they were as he opened the other one out of curiosity. Pardon my husband but he knows its okay to open my mail if its just from some company and not a person.

Anyway, as soon as he told me what it was, I shrieked and jumped up and down. Much to D’s amusement, I did not realize that his grandparents were downstairs and noticed my ecstatic reaction. LOLz What could emit this reaction from me without having seen what I got? Well, only something I asked for since December: WORDPRESS SCHWAG!

What is WordPress schwag and how the h3ll did I manage to get my grubby hands on them? Well, first and foremost “schwag“ is otherwise known as “promotional items” that are used for marketing programs and such. These objects often have logos, slogans and what not printed on the item to promote certain causes and what not.

Now last December, I think it was on Christmas day, I saw somebody on Plurk plurk about a post he got about his recent acquisition of WordPress Schwag. If you must know, there are WordPress items at their shop, and as you may have guessed, they cost a bundle especially from somebody from the third-world. At any rate, I did what I do best and Googled “wordpress schwag”. I landed on Maya Desai of Auttomatic’s blog where she was giving out free WordPress schwag that are not even available at the WordPress shop. The catch? You had to prove to her that you deserve it.

I gave it my best shot, since obviously I am a bit crazy about WordPress. Ask anybody who asks me about blogging and I pretty much suggest they use WordPress. I simply like WordPress enough to promote it. Anyway, I read something about the fact that Maya may not send schwags all over the world, much less the Philippines, so I was doubtful even though Maya sent me an email telling me I could have WordPress schwag.

Weeks went by and I pretty much forgot about it, until last week where I opened the email she sent me after searching through my inbox for WordPress installation details. After re-reading her email, I thought, “well, maybe they really do not send stuff to the Philippines… but that’s okay.” Honestly, it would be a bit rare if they send stuff to the Philippines.

Obviously, I was wrong since I did get my WordPress schwag since this came in the mail:

What’s inside? Well, I wanted to go to Ehn’s house to have her take pictures of me and my WordPress schwag, but it is raining so I had to make use of my laptop webcam and the art of Adobe Photoshop to show you these:

In the package, I have:

• pencils
• stickers
• temporary tattoos
• buttons

Pretty little things. I am sticking one of those small black and white round stickers on Emily. [normally I do not want to put anything on Emily]

Thanks a lot, Maya! This is awesome! So what do I do with it? Well, I think I will give it away to friends especially the WordPress users.. and then, of course, I will use them myself! I hope to give some to the bloggers at SU so they can promote blogging using WordPress. nyahahaha.. and of course to my websiite designer friends at Parole School since they also use WordPress – but they must ask first.

If you want your own WordPress schwag, try asking politely at Maya’s blog post [although she is not accepting requests as of the moment].

teehee.. I am still ecstatic. Makes using WordPress on all 20+ websites worth it. LOL
