Thinking about Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia E63

I still want a new cellphone. I want the kind of cellphone where I can browse via WiFi, take good enough pictures, send emails, Bluetooth, read and make documents, and the usual features of a calendar, to-do list. You know, the kind of phone where I can do the things that I need to do online. Plus, it needs to be pretty and pretty cheap or cheaper.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Nokia 5800 XperssMusic

Until the end of last year, like the very end of last year, I still want an Apple iPhone from the bottom of my heart. It did not help that Alaine had a nice red iPhone, or that Lou had an iPhone as well. I really cannot help but fall for amazing gadgets here and there – but that does not mean that I want to go to the nearest cellphone shop and buy it then and there. However, I do go on a bit of a craze and research about it non-stop.

There is this sort-of new cellphone on the block called the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic aka Nokia Tube. It is so pretty I think I am going to faint. Not only that, it is also more or less considered to be the cellphone that took away the iPhone’s crown. Armed with Symbian S60, Nokia 5800 kicks iPhone on the shins by being lighter in weight, faster OS, cooler camera (3.2 megapixel dual LED flash with Carl Zeiss lens as opposed to the iPhone’s 2 megapixel), and a year supply of unlimited FREE music downloads for a year (opposing the iTunes store where you need to pay in order to download). The clincher? iPhone currently costs approximately Php. 45,000+ in the Philippines, whereas Nokia 5800 XpressMusic costs approximately Php. 20,000. Between the two of them, I would buy Nokia 5800 XpressMusic at a drop of a hat. Besides, it came out in “The Dark Knight”. How cool is that? :D

Nokia E63

But lo and behold, here comes another yummy cellphone: Nokia E63. Actually, Ehn and I just saw this cellphone a couple of days ago, and I fell in love with it in an instant. I have this particular weakness for QWERTY keyboard phones which means it jumped right next to Nokia 5800 on my list. It has Symbian OS, plus Office applications, MP3 player, expandable memory, email, instant messaging, 2 megapixel camera, radio, same processor as Nokia 5800, and it comes in my beloved RED color. It also has Files on Ovi which can help me connect via remote access to my PC files! AND have 1 GB file storage absolutely FREE! woot! The best thing? The price is approximately Php. 12,000 when Ehn and I saw it. *sigh* I love it.

Between Nokia 5800 and Nokia E63? Despite the fact that Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is super cool and really neat, I am leaning towards Nokia E63. Price-wise, colorwise, and features-wise, it just makes it more… REALIZABLE compared to the Nokia 5800. Besides, Nokia E63 can still play tunes, and I can always upload MP3s, and any camera  is better than no camera at all!

So now, I just have to find $$ so I can purchase Nokia E63 and we’re good. Unless of course you want to donate a dollar or two? Or perhaps donate the whole phone? Hehehe I’m all ears.
