I have been obsessing lately about a certain red bike that I saw my beloved cousin purchase. I had a bike once, and it was silver with black handles and pedals. A BMX, it was basically an upgrade from the toy bike with three wheels that I first had. I did not name him (the bike) anything, but I think it was definitely a HE.
My grandfather bought him for me when I was just around 6 years old. We became fast friends and we stayed close up until my knees hit the handlebars by the time I reached my senior year in high school and I had already hit it off with a certain red motorcycle.
Seeing my cousin flaunt her red bike made me nostalgic for my old silver bike. He is still quite alive you know, even though my grandfather had passed on and I heard that he (my grandfather) bought a replacement for my Silver Dude (okay, now we’re naming him). I remember that Silver Dude or SD and I had tons of fun as I rode around the barangay and even downtown. I can still remember how I felt I was the next X-Games superstar. I had idolized my uncle, and seeing a picture of him making his bicycle fly above a bonfire made me want to do it, too! Well, obviously I did not become the star I was supposed to be. But I did learn how to make my bicycle fly – yes, really and truly.. wanna see me do it? – of course, that meant I flew off the handlebars a couple of times as well.
Some bruises, dislocations, and funny moments here and there made those days so fun and wonderful… even the memories just make me feel so alive…
See? All these memories over some red bike Aisha (my cousin) bought. Suffice it to say, I lusted over the red bike and would not stop badgering people to get me that red bike! Red bike! Red bike! RED BIKE! That was the case until even those who lived on cyberspace new my obsession of buying the red bike.
Now this red bike, hooboy, was a doozy! It’s not a BMX, so I do not have plans to fly off the handlebars again. It is a Vintage style bicycle, complete with fenders, a wicker basket (or something like that), and a bell. It looks totally awesome, so much so that I can picture myself biking around town wearing a sundress, shades, sandals, flowers – FLOWERS?! Yes, somehow I think I have outgrown my Xtreme sportsman phase a bit. Now with this Vintage looking bike, I feel like the whole town is within my biking reach! All the more reason to purchase it, yes?
With 2009 only a few winks away, have you put in some thought as to what you plan to do for the year? Have you thought about your resolutions, your goals, the things you might want to change perhaps?
Okay, it is still Christmas season more or less; however, one often ties Christmas with the New Year, right?
Okay, I know I’m rambling. These “New Year” thoughts surfaced quite a few days ago when I started receiving planners and plans of people to get me a planner / organizer. Then I thought, “gah! Am I THAT busy? Or am I that disorganized?”
I think the answer is “Yes” on both counts. I did not really realize my busy-ness until I got the planners. For some reason, I think I may really have to use the planners fully next year. I’ve got something cooking as of early this month, and that is bound to make me busier.
Still, I had to face a dilemma: which planner to use? I am already using the three year diary Lainee gave me, but it does not have all the spaces that I need. Ehn gave me a planner which is UBER nice with leather cover and neat pages, and it is defnitely compact. And I have another planner which Maree gave me as a surprise token of being with Haven For Writers for at least 4 months.
After much thinking, I have come to a conclusion. I will be using the planner Maree gave me as my main planner, and the planner which Ehn gave me will be used for my spiritual reflections, musings, and thoughts – more like a journal, yes. And the three year diary Lainee gave me will still last long enough to see other years, where I will be able to fully make use of all that space.
Where do you go when you are out on parole? Me? I stay at home – normally. However, for some odd reason, I stepped out last December 18 to meet up with Live and Ehn supposedly to buy jeans. What really happened was that instead of going to a mall and buying jeans, Live, Daph, and I went over to Edelweiss Cafe to try out their goodies. Ehn was supposed to join us, but the Edelweiss Cafe is quite far off from Ehn was at.
Edelweiss Cafe is this Austrian themed cafe / bar in Dumaguete City. Of course, most of its patrons are foreigners and the prices are a bit on the higher side of the usual cafes in the city. I do love its atmosphere and the costumes the waitresses are wearing. The furniture and overall ambiance is also really nice.
We had a blast checking out the food and the names which we could hardly pronounce. HaH! Can you blame us if we don’t know any of the names of the dishes? At least there were some descriptions listed below the dishes – in English – which made it easier for us to choose what we would like. I ended up with a Werner sumthing sumthing, and an Ice Cup sumthing sumthing, plus Cali.
Have you ever done something where you work hard for it because you are going crazy or perhaps going nuts from your determination? Well, yesterday, I was on the brink of collapsing as I went on a 12 hour marathon of posting at Paraiso Philippines.
I am not much of a forum poster. I keep joining forums, but I never really post much. However, Paraiso Philippines is a whole new forum for me. For starters, I happen to enjoy posting there whenever I can remember. Yesterday was a special day because we had the 12 hour marathon posting. I must say I had the time of my life, but at the end of the day, I think my body just gave way. Hahaha..
I think it would be safe to conclude that December 15 marks half of December. Right? How did your december go so far?
My December is going well, dear friends. Despite set backs and all that jazz, I am pretty much trudging along the fine lines of survival and surviving. The need to provide gives me that much needed boost, but nothing to worry about. I know somehow, somewhere, I will be able to find something.
At any rate, the freedom that December is offering me is pretty much giving me much happiness that I never thought possible. These days I get to have more rest and more time to just go around town window shopping, and bonding with the kiddoz. Of course, things always happen for a reason, and with the freedom I have, I am now able to put the pedal to the metal and just work on my endeavours and what not. What is it? Check up above my site. Can you see Biz Services and Options as well as Bookmarking Services? Those two are my extended babies and I have been working on that full blast at the start of this month. I hope to be able to make waves with that in the near future.
Anyway, Christmas is here and as a treat, I would like to let you take a peek into my world at camp minus prison. I am posting just three pictures because I do not really want to crowd my website and increase the loading time.
